Build the marriage before the wedding.

Premarital counseling for couples who want to go into marriage with their eyes open — having the real conversations before they become real problems.

You're excited. You're also smart enough to prepare.

Most couples spend more time planning the wedding than preparing for the marriage. Premarital counseling isn't for couples in trouble — it's for couples who want to start strong. It's an investment in the relationship you're building, not a sign that something is wrong.

The conversations that matter most — about money, family, conflict, faith, parenting, expectations, and intimacy — are easier to have before you're married than after. Premarital counseling creates the structure to have them well.

What we cover together.

Communication & conflict

How you fight matters more than whether you fight. We work on communication patterns, repair skills, and how to navigate disagreement without damaging the relationship.

Finances & practical life

Money is one of the leading sources of marital conflict. We discuss financial values, spending habits, debt, and how you'll make financial decisions together.

Family of origin

You're not just marrying each other — you're merging two family systems. We explore how your upbringings shape your expectations, defaults, and blind spots.

Faith & values

Whether you share the same faith or come from different traditions, we explore how spirituality, values, and worldview will shape your life together.

Roles & expectations

Unspoken expectations are a major source of marital disappointment. We surface and examine them before they become resentments.

Intimacy & connection

Emotional, physical, and relational intimacy — what you each need, how you express it, and how to keep the connection strong through the demands of life.

Structured, honest, and practically useful.

Premarital counseling here is structured but not scripted. Sessions cover the areas most predictive of marital satisfaction and stability — while leaving room for the specific dynamics and concerns each couple brings.

The PREPARE/ENRICH assessment is available as an optional tool for couples who want a detailed, research-based profile of their relationship strengths and growth areas. It provides a concrete starting point for the work and a shared language for the conversations ahead.

PREPARE/ENRICH assessment.

PREPARE/ENRICH is a research-validated relationship inventory that assesses 20 relationship dimensions — including communication, conflict resolution, finances, family of origin, and spiritual beliefs — and generates a personalized couple report. It's one of the most effective tools available for premarital preparation.

The PREPARE/ENRICH assessment is optional and available at an additional cost. Ask about it when you schedule.
