Christian Counseling · Orlando & Longwood, FL
Counseling that doesn't ask you to leave your faith at the door.
For clients who want their Christian beliefs to be part of the therapeutic process — not set aside. Secular clients are equally welcome.
Your faith is part of who you are.
It can be part of the work, too.
For many people, faith isn't just a belief system — it's the lens through which they understand themselves, their relationships, and the hard things life brings. When you're struggling, it can feel strange to set that aside and talk to a counselor who doesn't share or understand that framework.
For clients who want their Christian faith incorporated into counseling, I'm comfortable integrating biblical principles and conversations about faith alongside evidence-based counseling approaches. I spent more than ten years in pastoral and ministry roles before becoming a counselor — faith isn't something I need briefed on. I understand it from the inside.
That said, faith integration is always collaborative and client-led. If you want prayer, Scripture, or spiritual reflection woven into your sessions, that's available. If you'd prefer a clinically focused approach without faith content, that's equally welcome. There's no pressure, no agenda, and no assumption about where you are spiritually.
Background
More than 10 years in ministry — now in the counseling room.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent more than a decade in pastoral and ministry roles — walking alongside people through grief, marriage struggles, spiritual crises, and the ordinary weight of trying to live faithfully in a complicated world.
That background shapes how I work. I understand the particular pressures that come with faith — the guilt, the expectations, the questions about identity and purpose, the tension between what you believe and what you feel. I don't need those things explained.
My M.A. in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary grounded that ministry experience in clinical training — a program that takes both faith and the science of human change seriously. That combination is what I bring into the room.
How faith integration works.
Faith integration is always collaborative and client-led. You decide how much — or how little — your faith is part of the conversation.
- Prayer and Scripture woven into sessions, if desired
- Spiritual reflection and meaning-making
- Clinical approaches without faith content — equally available
- No pressure, no agenda, no assumption about where you are spiritually
Who comes to Christian counseling.
Active believers
People whose faith is central to their identity and who want a counselor who shares and understands that framework.
Those in spiritual struggle
Doubt, deconstruction, burnout, or the feeling that your faith isn't working the way it used to. A space to explore without judgment.
Secular clients
You don't have to be a person of faith to work with me. Many clients prefer a clinically focused approach with no faith content — that's equally welcome.
A note on credentials.
Christian counseling at Lakeview is provided by a trained, pre-licensed counseling professional — not a pastoral counselor or spiritual director. Clinical training and evidence-based approaches are the foundation; faith integration is an available layer, not a substitute for clinical care.
