Couples Counseling
Couples & Marriage Counseling in Orlando & Longwood, FL
For couples stuck in the same arguments, growing apart, or trying to rebuild — a structured space to work through it together.
Something has shifted, and you both know it.
Maybe the same argument keeps happening and neither of you knows how to break the pattern. Maybe you've drifted into a kind of polite distance that feels worse than fighting. Maybe you're more like roommates than partners, and you're not sure how you got here. Maybe one of you has been hurt, and you're not sure the relationship can come back from it.
Or maybe things aren't in crisis — you just want to build something stronger before the cracks get bigger. Premarital counseling, relationship enrichment, or working through a specific challenge before it becomes a defining one.
Couples counseling isn't about deciding who's right. It's about understanding the patterns that keep showing up, improving how you communicate, and rebuilding the connection that brought you together. Outcomes depend on the effort and commitment of both partners — no specific results are guaranteed.
What couples counseling can address.
Assessment Tool
PREPARE/ENRICH for premarital and relationship work.
Lakeview uses the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment for premarital and relationship enrichment work. It's a research-based tool that helps couples identify strengths and growth areas across key dimensions — communication, conflict resolution, finances, family of origin, and more.
The assessment is completed online and reviewed together in session, giving you a concrete framework for the conversations that actually matter.
PREPARE/ENRICH is available for both premarital couples and established couples seeking relationship enrichment.
The Approach
What to expect.
Sessions are structured and goal-oriented. We'll slow down the patterns that keep you stuck, help both of you feel genuinely heard, and build practical skills for communication, conflict, and connection. The focus is determined by your specific situation — not a predetermined curriculum. Some couples see meaningful change in a few months; others work together longer. The pace is yours.
Common questions.
Ideally, yes — couples counseling works best when both partners are willing to engage. That said, if one partner is hesitant, a single session to ask questions and get a feel for the process can sometimes help.
It depends on what you're working on. Some couples see meaningful change in 8–12 sessions; others work together longer. The pace is determined by your goals and progress, not a fixed timeline.
Couples counseling is typically not covered by insurance, as it is not billed as treatment for an individual mental health diagnosis. See the Rates page for current fees.
